Job summary

Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital is seeking an Registered Nurse (RN) to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on a night shift. The RN will manage unit staff, supplies, and equipment, and collaborate with the health care team to promote optimal patient outcomes.

The role requires Alabama or multi-state RN licensure, BLS; ACLS and PALS are required or obtainable within six months. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is offered.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensure in Alabama or multistate.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS required (ACLS/PALS may be obtained within the first 6 months).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Use nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Assess needs of assigned patients with sound judgment and critical thinking; document timely assessments.
• Develop and update plans of care with measurable outcomes and family involvement.
• Recognize crisis situations and intervene quickly; document actions.
• Collaborate with physicians and health care team to achieve desired patient outcomes and continuity of care.
• Delegate work to team members and supervise when appropriate; follow policy for chain of command.
• Assist with unit orientation, education of students and staff; train new personnel.
