Job summary

Lee's Summit Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department on a PRN basis to join our team. The RN coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and the care team.

The role emphasizes rapid assessment, documentation, patient advocacy, and education for patients and families consistent with standards of practice and organizational values.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN).
• Certification in NIH Stroke Scale within 90 days of start date.
• Certification in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 6 months.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months.
• Certification in ENPC or PALS within 6 months.
• Certification in ACLS within 90 days.
• Certification in BLS within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassessments after interventions.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other tasks as ordered by providers and documents care promptly.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs to deliver exceptional care.
• Educates patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up steps.
• T conducts patient and family education on non-medicinal health maintenance and self-management.

Education

RN - Registered Nurse

NIH Stroke Scale within 90 days

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 6 months

Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months

Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) or PALS within 6 months

Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days

Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days
