Job summary

Adventist Health Sierra Vista in California is hiring an Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department. The role involves triage, assessment, treatment, and discharge of patients across all ages in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, implement treatment plans, monitor patient status, and collaborate with physicians during Code Blue, Code Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma activations. Acute care experience and EPIC experience are required.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current RN license in state of practice is required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
• TNCC certification must be obtained within six months of hire or transfer.
• At least one year of experience in acute care.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate triage assessments and notify physicians of abnormal signs or vitals.
• Process and complete patient orders in a timely manner.
• Provide education on medication side effects and include in discharge instructions.
• Recognize signs of cardiac or respiratory distress and respond appropriately.
• Administer nursing interventions for stable and emergent situations.
• Demonstrate competence with IV therapy and medical equipment in critical care.
• Interpret ECG rhythms and manage life-threatening emergencies.
• Participate in Code Blue, Code Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma activations.
• Document patient care legibly and timely.
