Job summary

Physicians Premier in Texas is seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced ER. You will triage, assess, treat, and collaborate with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

The role requires an accredited nursing program graduate and an active Texas RN license, with CPR/BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications expected. Comprehensive benefits are offered and the ER operates 24/7.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Texas RN license or compact license with Texas privileges.
• CPR/BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care by evaluating the medical complaint or current symptoms and report to physician.
• Works directly under physicians, assisting them during exams, procedures, diagnostic testing and treatments.
• Performs IV initiation/infusion/therapy, blood draws, cardiac monitoring, pulse oximetry, applies oxygen, nebulized treatment, wound care, splints.
• Recognizes and effectively treats life-threatening conditions.
• Perform head-to-toe assessment on all patients including pediatrics, adolescents and geriatrics.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care and assigns triage categories.
• Assists physicians with procedures including laceration repair, moderate sedation, intubation, chest tube, birth/death reporting.
• Prepares and administers medications and records administration in the medical record.
• Interacts professionally with patient and family in plan of care.
• Reviews discharge instructions and records vitals prior to discharge.
• Maintains departmental policies, safety, infection control standards.
• Completes nursing documentation per policy and ER standards.
• Ensures adequate stock and proper functioning of equipment.
• Records patient care data concisely in the medical record.
• Engages in education and professional development activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Nurse Director.
