Job summary

Physicians Premier seeks an experienced ER Nurse to provide direct patient care, triage, and collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary team in a high‑volume freestanding ER.

You will assist with exams and procedures, start IVs, monitor patients, administer meds, perform accurate documentation, discharge instructions, and ensure safety and infection control.

A Texas RN license and CPR/BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Two years of ER nursing experience.
• Current Texas RN license (or multistate compact).
• CPR/BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care by evaluating medical complaints and reporting to physician.
• Assist physicians during exams, procedures, diagnostic tests and treatments.
• Perform IV initiation/infusion, blood draws, monitoring, oxygen therapy and wound care.
• Recognize and treat life‑threatening conditions.
• Conduct head‑to‑toe assessments across age groups and reassess as needed.
• Use triage to assign appropriate care levels and document results.
• Assist with procedures including laceration repair, intubation, and other emergencies.
• Administer medications and document in patient records.
• Explain discharge instructions and monitor vitals prior to discharge.
• Maintain policies, safety, infection control, and complete nursing documentation.
• Ensure supplies and equipment are functioning; participate in professional development.
• Other duties as assigned by Nurse Director.
