Piedmont Eastside SOUTH Campus Emergency Department is seeking an RN for full-time evening shifts in a fast-paced 11-bed ED. The role involves independent assessment, triage, planning and execution of care for both adult and pediatric patients.

Responsibilities include implementing interventions in critical care and life-threatening situations, mentoring teammates, and acting as relief charge nurse when needed. Strong communication and leadership skills required.

Qualifications

• Nurse will assess, triage, plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Ability to lead and coordinate care for adults and pediatrics.
• Willingness to mentor and serve as relief charge nurse when needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessments, collects data on physical and psychosocial history.
• Evaluates developmental age during assessments and education.
• Organizes data into a care plan and identifies outcomes.
• Carries out the plan of care to achieve outcomes.
• Provides appropriate care based on severity of condition.
• Oversees activities of staff and resources.
• Identifies teaching opportunities and provides education.
• Communicates issues to Charge Nurse/Manager/Physician.
• Documents care and concerns in the patient record.
