Location: Presque Isle, Maine (04769) – Aroostook County
Assignment Type: Travel Nurse / Locum Tenens
Setting: Emergency Department (11-bed ED with trauma and behavioral health rooms)
Facility Type: Teaching Hospital
Start Date: September 1, 2025
End Date: November 29, 2025
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 (12-hour rotating shifts; days, nights, and mid-shifts 10a-10p)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
Charting System: FirstNet EMR
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1880–$2020 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Maine or compact state
Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room (ER) or Emergency Department nursing experience
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
TNCC and NRP certifications preferred
Proficient in EKGs, IV starts, TNKase administration, nebulizer treatments, initiating Bipap, suture removal, casting assistance, and ventilator management
Charge nurse or leadership experience is a plus (please indicate on your application)
Comfortable providing care to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics
First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply!

ER Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced Emergency Department
Assess, triage, and manage patients with a broad range of conditions, including trauma, stroke, STEMI, and behavioral health emergencies
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including ED providers, mid-levels, hospitalists, technicians, and support staff
Perform and assist with clinical procedures such as EKGs, IV starts, medication administration, nebulizer treatments, suture removal, and casting
Utilize FirstNet EMR for accurate charting and documentation
Participate in hospital and unit orientation; maintain a professional appearance (scrubs of any color permitted)
Adhere to hospital policies and contribute to a positive, team-oriented healthcare environment
