Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years in healthcare registration or front desk roles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families professionally and compassionately.
• Register patients for emergency services and collect required information.
• Verify patient identity and insurance details and update records as needed.
• Obtain signatures on consent forms and explain each consent.
• Verify coverage and eligibility for billing and collect co-pays when applicable.
• Assist patients with insurance questions and clarifications.
• Document when the patient cannot sign and note nursing sign‑offs when needed.
• Identify correct insurance plan codes for accurate payment.
• Prepare paperwork for quick retrieval of visits.
• Place armband on patients for proper ID throughout stay.
• Notify departments of arrivals and follow up if waiting occurs.
• Maintain communication during emergencies and follow emergency plans.
• Perform other duties and maintain reliable attendance.
• Comply with policies and standards.
