Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a full-time ER Registrar to join our Emergency Department registration team. This role focuses on gathering patient information, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays when applicable, and delivering compassionate, efficient service to patients and families.

You will support accurate documentation and coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to keep the ER running smoothly.

Qualifikationen

• Post-secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting including patient registration, medical office scheduling, or front desk/admissions required.
• 0-2 years of experience in customer service preferred.

Aufgaben

• Greets patients and families in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Registers patients for emergency services, obtaining all required personal, insurance, and medical information.
• Verifies patient identification and insurance details, updating records as needed.
• Obtains signatures on consent forms and explains each consent prior to signing.
• Verifies insurance coverage and eligibility for billing purposes.
• Collects patient co-pays or deductibles when applicable and informs patients of financial obligations.
• Assists patients with understanding insurance requirements and resolves related questions.
• Documents thoroughly when patients cannot sign forms and ensures nursing staff sign off when needed.
• Verifies insurance and identifies proper plan codes for accurate payment.
• Prepares paperwork for quick retrieval and processing of visits.
• Places an armband on each patient before departure for proper identification.
• Notifies departments or physicians of patient arrival and follows up if waiting times are long.
• Maintains communication during emergency codes and alerts facility plans.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
