Job summary

As a staff nurse, you will participate in safety and quality initiatives, collaborate with inter-professional teams, and support education for patients and families. Full-time, days, 36 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Knowledge of patient- and family-centered practice and cultural awareness.
• Effective communication with patients, families and care partners.
• Knowledge of patient assessment, discharge planning and care coordination.
• Ability to collaborate with inter-professional teams.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, patients, their family/designated care partner(s), and other staff.
• Integrates Evidence-Based Practice and clinical expertise for delivery of healthcare.
• Partners with patients and family in identifying learning needs and provides education.
• Minimizes risk of harm by following nursing practices and protocols.
• Uses information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, and monitor care outcomes.
• Functions within nursing and inter-professional teams to provide safe, compassionate care.
• Participates in hospital- and practice setting-based safety and quality improvement activities.
• Acts as a resource for learning and supports precepting appropriate staff.
