Job summary

Sturdy Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for per diem shifts in Massachusetts. The RN will deliver compassionate, collaborative, and high-quality care to patients across all ages, following the nursing process and hospital guidelines.

Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring vitals, documenting patient histories, and coordinating care with families and health professionals. BLS required; ACLS/NRP/PALS as specified for units.

Qualifications

• New Graduate Nurses accepted for some positions.
• Excellent communication and customer services skills required.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, good organizational skills, and adaptability.
• Command of verbal and written English

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, positive responses to the needs of all customers including patients, families, co-workers, and physicians.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized, coordinated care plans.
• Regularly assess and record vital signs to monitor patient status.
• Gather and document patients' medical history, symptoms, and current health status.
• Systematically assess patients for care needs, changes in condition, or response to treatment.
• Administer and accurately record medications according to provider orders and protocols.
• Independently administer nursing care, applying procedures specific to patient needs.
• Delegate care in accordance with the Massachusetts Nurse Practice Act and hospital guidelines.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and nursing plans of care.
• Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and treatment options.
• Respond to medical emergencies and initiate interventions.
• Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
• Utilize and maintain medical equipment and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
