Job summary

Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop, LA is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join the fast-paced ED team. You will perform rapid assessments, triage, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians, EMS, and other staff to deliver lifesaving care.

The ideal candidate holds an active Louisiana RN license, BLS and ACLS, with a commitment to patient safety, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Louisiana RN license is required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced Emergency Department.
• Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care using triage guidelines.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients with emergencies and trauma.
• Administer medications, IV therapies and emergency treatments safely.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in status.
• Assist physicians with procedures and life-saving interventions.
• Operate cardiac monitors and infusion pumps.
• Collaborate with EMS, physicians and staff to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses and discharge plans.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Maintain infection prevention standards and patient safety.
