Job summary

MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center Emergency Room is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our ED team. You will access patient requisitions, draw blood from patients of all ages, and ensure specimens are prepared for laboratory analysis. The work is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, completion of an accredited phlebotomy certificate, and BLS; phlebotomy certification preferred. Full-time, 36 hours weekly, with 3-12 hour shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an Accredited Phlebotomy Certificate preferred.
• BLS with AHA required; Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draws and collects blood samples from patients of all ages.
• Verifies records and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis.
• May prick finger to draw blood; performs routine duties under RN supervision.
• Maintains smooth workflow in the emergency department.
