Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Part-Time Paramedic to join the St. Louis Emergency Department. You will perform direct patient care in the ER under RN supervision, support with admissions, discharges, and patient handoffs, and coordinate with the healthcare team in a fast-paced setting.

New graduates welcome. Candidate will hold EMT-P/Paramedic credentials and a state Paramedic license, and have BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications preferred. This role offers competitive benefits and a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited EMT-P/Paramedic program.
• Current Paramedic license in the state of practice.
• New graduates and experienced paramedics encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Administer IV push medications, including narcotics, safely and accurately.
• Verify high-risk medications and manage medication infusions.
• Monitor and manage respiratory support devices.
• Provide care for intubated patients.
• Perform patient reassessments and clinical scoring tools (RASS, CIWA).
• Interpret EKGs and recognize critical findings.
• Complete clinical procedures including splinting, point-of-care testing, and removal of sutures.
