Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking a Nursing Attendant for the Columbia University Medical Center campus. You will assist nurses and ICU technicians, monitor vitals, help with meals, and ensure patient comfort in a fast‑paced emergency room environment.

Qualified BSN students or CNAs with clinical experience, a HS diploma, and BLS are required. Shift hours are 8:00 am to 4:15 pm with weekends rotating, promoting teamwork and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Qualified candidates are currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) program and have completed at least one clinical rotation or will have previous certified nurses aide or nursing attendant experience, or certification through an approved, accredited certified nurses aide training program.
• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Current BLS from American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor blood pressure and temperature of patients, while ensuring the delivery of meals and safe transport.
• Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure.
• Demonstrate teamwork and contribute to a safe, clean and healthy patient environment.
