Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Slidell, LA is seeking a registered nurse to lead patient care using the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act and standards. You will delegate, support diverse patients and families, and contribute to unit goals and overall patient outcomes.

The role requires active RN licensure in Louisiana, BLS, CPI within 30 days, ACLS and PALS within 90 days, with a Bachelor's degree preferred. Sign-on available and strong teamwork/communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (RN licensure required).
• Current RN license in the state of practice (Louisiana).
• Required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• CPI certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• PALS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: certification in a clinical specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to deliver patient care.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching for diverse patients and families.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources on the interdisciplinary team.
• Utilize data to evaluate and promote changes for optimal outcomes.
• Support customer satisfaction and employee morale and practice improvements in nursing.
• Adapt communication and care to the patient population while protecting privacy.
• Perform other related duties as required.
