Job summary

Winona Health is seeking a Nurse Intern for Summer 2027 to join the Emergency Department. The program runs ten weeks at 0.75–0.90 FTE with shifts 6:45–7:15. You will work under a nurse preceptor, gain clinical skills, and participate in interdisciplinary care. Weekends every third weekend; no holidays.

The role offers paid summer experience, orientation, and the chance to contribute to patient care alongside registered nurses.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a baccalaureate nursing program or associate nursing program and qualified to graduate by December 2027 or May 2028.
• Must be actively enrolled in a nursing internship course through a Minnesota school of higher education.
• CNA Certification - MN and BLS Certification.
• Good decision-making, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivery of patient care in the emergency department under RN supervision.
• Perform duties taught in academic programs and orientation with demonstrated competence.
• Assist with triage, rooming, vital signs, and transport of patients.
• Input data into the EMR and ensure accuracy of documentation.
