Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The ED handles diverse acute conditions, with a Level III Trauma designation in the region and access to advanced technology.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in an emergency department preferred.
• Nursing degree (diploma, ASN or BSN) required; BSN within 4 years are required.
• Active MA RN license and BLS certification are required; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and their families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist the leadership team in quality improvement projects.
