Job summary

AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive inpatient care on a night shift. You will assess patients across multiple domains, develop individualized care plans, administer medications, educate families, and coordinate with the care team to ensure safety and quality outcomes.

You will document accurately, respond to emergencies, and participate in professional development.

Qualifications

• Assess patients’ physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care.
• Administer medications and treatments per orders, monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, care activities, and outcomes.
• Evaluate effectiveness of care plans and adjust as needed to improve outcomes.
• Ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed.
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families.
• Supervise and delegate care within the healthcare team.
