Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a qualified registered nurse to provide direct patient care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards. The role emphasizes accurate documentation and effective communication across care teams in a hospital setting.

The incumbent will coordinate care plans for the appropriate age group, educate patients and families, and may precept students or new staff. Compliance with HIPAA and background clearance requirements is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Current PA RN licensure or current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• CPR – American Heart Association.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 and Act 73 background clearances.
• HIPAA compliance and privacy policies knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of the healthcare organization.
• Utilizes nursing process to coordinate the plan of patient care for the age appropriate population.
• Initiates, monitors and revises interdisciplinary care plans based on assessments and physician orders.
• Completes patient documentation to promote interdisciplinary communication.
• Provides ongoing teaching to patients and families across the continuum of care.
• Supports the development of students or new staff and may serve as a preceptor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
