Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking an Experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department night shift. The RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care, ensuring safe and effective patient handling in a high‑acuity ED environment.

Requirements include 0–1 year of nursing practice, NJ RN license and an Associate degree in Nursing, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred. The role offers a competitive hourly rate and comprehensive benefits in a Magnet-recognized system.

Qualifications

• 0–1 years of nursing experience required; 2–4 years preferred.
• NJ RN license required; license must be active.
• Associate degree in Nursing required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs an assessment of the patient, leading to development, implementation and evaluation of a plan of care.
• Administers, monitors and documents therapeutic interventions and regimes.
• Participates in clinical decision-making.
• Educates patient and family/responsible party regarding disease process, individual care needs, wellness, safety issues, etc.
• Delegates and monitors care rendered by other members of nursing department and healthcare team.
• Participates in orientation, education and development of healthcare team.
• Identifies and participates in the performance improvement activities.
• Maintains professional and departmental level competencies.
