Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Night Shift in the Emergency Department at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton. This role provides professional nursing care, conducts assessments, plans and evaluates patient care, and collaborates with physicians and the care team to ensure safe transitions and outcomes.

The position requires an accredited nursing program graduate, current PA RN license, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Nursing program.
• Knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice.
• Ability to organize and prioritize assignments in the delivery of patient care.
• Successful completion of additional orientation programs related to specialty.
• Attainment and maintenance of unit-specific competencies.
• Basic computer skills.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania
• RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the care for designated patients.
• Coordinates and provides patient and family education throughout treatment course to facilitate an effective transition of care.
• Demonstrates commitment to quality and safety in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Uses effective communication styles with patients, families, staff and colleagues.
• Demonstrates leadership and team-building skills and mentors new colleagues and interns.
• Performs validated technical skills based upon clinical specialty and unit practice.
