Virginia Veterinary Specialty & Emergency in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) for our ER & ICU team. The swing shift (11am-11pm) is a full-time role focusing on emergency medicine and critical care.

Qualifications

• AAS in Veterinary Technology from an accredited program.
• Active Virginia Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in good standing.
• 2+ years in emergency veterinary medicine; new grads welcome with strong ER interest.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and client education skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced nursing: restraint, postoperative care, catheter placement, wound care.
• Assist veterinarians in emergency procedures, anesthesia, surgical prep, monitoring, and recovery.
• Provide emergency care such as CPR, fluid therapy, oxygen, and blood transfusions.
• Conduct diagnostics and labs: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, serology.
• Operate diagnostic equipment: blood pressure, ECG, pulse oximetry, imaging.
• Triage patients and document condition and treatment; educate clients on care and follow-up.
