Job summary

MedVet in California is seeking an Emergency Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced ER team. You will record rounds, evaluate incoming patients, and collaborate with the care team on treatment plans and client communication.

Responsibilities include anesthesia induction, in-house lab work, and nursing care for hospitalized patients while educating clients on home care and medications. A CA RVT license and ER experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• State-registered RVT license required.
• Experience in veterinary emergencies preferred.
• Proficient with medical calculations and dosing.
• Flexible hours; able to work extra shifts as needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Record and discuss cases, gather information for rounds.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Collaborate with care team on treatment plans and nursing care.
• Educate clients on home care, meds, and wellness for inpatients.
• Assist DVM with assessments, treatments, and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care for hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house labs and prep samples for external testing.
