Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in New York. You will deliver nursing care per policy, prioritize patient needs, and support the RN with care planning. You will report observations, administer prescribed meds, and maintain accurate documentation.

The role requires NYS LPN licensure, a practical nursing program, and at least one year of experience. Expect teamwork, patient interaction, and emergency responsiveness in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved school of practical nursing.
• Currently licensed in New York State as a Practical Nurse.
• Minimum one year previous experience.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care according to Facility policy and plan-of-care.
• Prioritize care to meet care needs to achieve desired outcome.
• Reports information contributing to RN assessment of resident.
• Obtains data to assist RN in plan-of-care revisions.
• Administers prescribed medications and IV fluids as directed by RN.
• Monitors IV therapy and changes IV bags as needed.
• Engages in general activities and duties involving quality nursing care.
• Participates in nursing reports and maintains confidentiality.
• Performs documentation in the patient care records.
• Responds to emergencies and orients new nursing assistants.
