Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center seeks an Emergency Room Float Pool Nurse to support our free standing emergency rooms. The RN will provide direct patient care, coordinate with the care team, and participate in performance improvement initiatives.

The role includes acting as charge nurse and ensuring timely communication with physicians and families. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program, current RN license in Tennessee (or compact), BLS, ACLS within 6 months, and

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Tennessee Board of Nursing or compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.
• 2 years of clinical nursing experience in an emergency room is required.

Responsibilities

• The Emergency Room Float Pool Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the RN Practice Act.
• Act as charge nurse and assign staff based on patient need and acuity.
• Provide care and coordinate participation that aligns with the hospital mission.
• Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and document patient status.
• Educate patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary care planning team.
