How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:

You cannot work in this role with an EMT-B certification. Successful candidate must be certified as an EMT-Advanced, EMT-Intermediate, or Paramedic. Please consider applying to Clinical Associate positions in the ER if you possess an EMT-B certification.

Under the supervision of a licensed independent practitioner, manager, and/or Registered Nurse, in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Nursing delegation and supervision guidelines, assists with a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities. These include:

1. Assistance with activities of daily living, comfort care, and nutritional support.
2. Performance of selected diagnostic and therapeutic tasks and procedures as directed.
3. Indirect patient care activities include maintaining a clean, safe environment, ensuring adequate inventory of supplies and equipment, and data collection pertinent to the patient population.
4. Transports patients in hospital observing safety guidelines. Maintains advanced transport medical knowledge and abilities.

What We Require:

Education: High school graduate or equivalent required. An associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical program in paramedic studies is preferred.

Experience: One year EMT-Advanced, EMT-Intermediate, or Paramedic experience preferred.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Certified in the State of Virginia as an EMT-Advanced, EMT-Intermediate, or EMT-Paramedic (required) and maintains National Registered status (preferred). AHA BLS - HCP, and ACLS required. PALS, HazMat Awareness, NRP, and PHTLS or BTLS required within one year from date of hire.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Must maintain continuing education hours to meet re-certification standards as required by State and National regulations.
