Qualifications

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Two years of nursing experience in relevant clinical area.

Responsibilities

• Delegate work and provide supervision to professionals and other personnel involved in patient care.
• Participate in day-to-day operations under supervision of nursing manager/director.
• Act as a clinical and operations resource, maintaining current knowledge of practice and department operations.
• Audit, report, and educate staff on nursing documentation and meeting professional and JCAHO requirements.
• Plan daily staffing coverage according to department needs and skill mix; adjust staffing based on patient acuity and resources.
• Recruit, interview, hire, orient, and evaluate employees as directed.
• Maintain adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
• Inspect department and conduct safety rounds; ensure patient needs are met and issues resolved.
• Participate in performance improvement and review charts for quality standards.
