Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse in the Emergency Department to provide high-quality nursing care to patients under supervision, following established policies and guidelines.

The role involves planning and implementing nursing care, documenting assessments, communicating plans of care, and ensuring patient rights while aligning with the hospital's mission and quality improvement principles.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
• RN license issued by Florida or a Compact State.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS/PALS/NIHSS certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and analyze patients' health status on the assigned unit and document assessments.
• Perform ongoing assessments and report significant findings to the healthcare team.
• Initiate discharge planning with initial admission assessment.
• Plan patient care collaboratively with patient, family, and healthcare team.
• Update and adapt the care plan based on reassessments and progress.
• Coordinate and direct care activities to ensure delivery of quality care.
• Communicate the care plan to the team through daily rounds and handoffs.
• Transcribe and implement physician orders and educate patients as needed.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust interventions accordingly.
• Provide care tailored to patient populations (age, size, diagnoses).
• Demonstrate awareness of patients' physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs.
