Job summary

Adventist Health Portland is seeking a Technician to assist the Registered Nurse (RN) and physician with assessments, examinations and treatments. The role performs technical and patient care duties under RN supervision and supports the Unit Secretary functions.

Responsible for documenting care, vital signs, and observations, maintaining equipment readiness, and aiding in supply management. The position emphasizes patient-focused care and collaboration with the ED team.

Qualifications

• High School education is required; an associate/technical degree is preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification is required; EMT or CNA/CMA/Paramedic is preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification is required per AH policy.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN and physician with assessments, examinations and treatments.
• Documents patient care, vital signs, bedside care and observations.
• Maintains equipment and supplies; supports cost containment.
• Prioritizes patient care and communicates changes to the RN/MD.
• Provides patient and family education within scope of practice.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
