Job summary

Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, is seeking an Emergency Department Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care to people of all ages presenting with acute and chronic conditions, practicing at the top of your license in a dynamic ED.

With an annual volume around 15,000 visits and the West Wing Expansion underway, you will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and specialists to evaluate, diagnose, treat, order

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Eligible for or currently licensed to practice in the State of Vermont, with prescriptive authority (NP or PA).
• National certification required (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA as applicable).
• One year of clinical experience required; emergency or urgent care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions, including assessments and treatments.
• Perform EMTALA screening exams and provide care across all ages.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostics to support clinical decisions.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and specialists to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care and referrals.
