Job summary

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Bradenton, FL is seeking an ER Admissions Rep/Registrar on a PRN basis. You will maintain patient flow, verify insurance, and handle registrations using hospital information systems.

The role requires strong communication, typing 40 WPM, and the ability to work varied hours in a busy environment. Prior hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year experience in a hospital setting or related field.
• Minimum of 16 hours training with Quality Director and 40 hours departmental orientation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient flow, accurate registrations and collections of out of pocket money.
• Ensure paperwork is dispersed to the appropriate department.
• Answers incoming calls utilizing approved scripts.
• Able to type 40 WPM with accuracy in spelling.
• Medical terminology and knowledge of third party requirements.
• Able to handle stressful situations.
• Must be flexible in work schedule.
• Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Maintains good public relations with hospital personnel, physicians and their staff, insurance companies, and patients. Ensures that services are authorized by calling insurance companies at time of service.
