Job summary

Citi in Shanghai is seeking a Research Associate to support Equity Research and related reporting. The role involves integrating in-depth knowledge with industry standards, performing data analysis, and preparing materials for management reviews.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, plus experience or familiarity with investment research. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• MBA and/or CFA preferred.
• Existing knowledge of Research or external Investment research division essential.
• History of working within tight deadlines and prioritization.
• Microsoft systems especially Excel and Word.
• Ability to interact and manage at all levels, manage large amounts of data; using Citi systems is advantageous but not essential.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Secure and maintain applicable licenses.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and processes broker votes to be shared and consumed.
• Organizes the product management team including creation of presentations, marketing schedules, coordination of the marketing diary, product planning meetings, diary management etc.
• Publishes focus list notes, updating and displaying the new focus list posters etc.
• Contributes to market data and subscriptions management for Equity Research.
• Responsible for collation, coordination and organization of Road Ahead conference, stock steering meetings.
• Assists with year-end scorecard preparation, result analysis, goals and training.
• Provides management information including variance analysis, month-end reporting etc.
• Conducts expense management including travel and entertainment pre-approvals, client interaction spend pre-approval e.g. GLG, non-network individuals etc.
• Manages and prepares Committee quality reviews.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for Citi’s reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
