Coda Search is excited to partner with a boutique investment research platform in their search for an Equity Research Analyst. This firm maintains active coverage across multiple sectors, including TMT, BFSI, and Consumer, and Industrial names and is open to candidates with strong analytical backgrounds from many different sleeves of coverage.
Location: New York, NY
Compensation: Competitive base salary, commensurate with experience, plus bonus
(Open to Hybrid in NYC or remote in the U.S. for the right candidate.)

What will your day look like?
- Build and maintain financial models: Construct and refine detailed company and industry models to support coverage decisions.
- Generate investment ideas: Analyze company and sector performance to identify differentiated, actionable insights for institutional clients.
- Write research reports: Produce industry and company-specific research content, including new coverage initiation where applicable.
- Engage directly with management teams: Speak with Managing Partners to test hypotheses and stress-test analysis.
- Communicate with institutional investors: Present analysis and investment ideas directly to institutional clients, including funds, family offices, and asset managers.
- Monitor ongoing developments: Track earnings reports, conference calls, transcripts, market data, and industry publications relevant to your coverage.
- Participate in client and management calls: Join meetings with investors, company management, and the sales team as needed.
Who are you?
- You have a strong analytical foundation: You've built your skills through investment banking, consulting, equity research, or direct industry experience.
- You communicate with precision: You can distill complex analysis into clear, persuasive investment ideas for sophisticated audiences.
- You're excel-fluent and detail-oriented: Strong modeling and financial analysis skills are core to how you work.
- You bring credibility to your coverage: Whether through prior sell-side research experience or deep industry knowledge, you can speak with authority on the sectors you cover.
- You hold or is working toward relevant credentials: MBA or progress toward a CFA designation is a plus
