Job summary

Oregon Health Authority seeks an Equity & Policy Health Care Interpreter Policy Strategist (OPA4) to provide statewide leadership, policy development, and program oversight for Oregon’s Health Care Interpreter program. This role guides strategic planning, policy implementation, and compliance with state and federal requirements.

The position collaborates with healthcare providers, CCOs, and community partners to ensure equitable access to interpreting services for Medicaid members and LEP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and five years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
• OR: Any combination of experience and education equivalent to eight years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.
• Ability to analyze health policy and promote equity and inclusion in policy development and program implementation.

Responsibilities

• Provide statewide leadership for Oregon Health Authority's Health Care Interpreter (HCI) Program.
• Lead policy development, strategic planning, and program oversight for the HCI program.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, Coordinated Care Organizations (CCOs), state and local partners, and community organizations to develop policies and implement improvements.
• Advance equitable access to culturally and linguistically responsive healthcare services throughout Oregon.
