  • Experience with loan origination and underwriting software.

Responsibilities

  • Independently review and analyze borrower financials, credit histories, property appraisals, and loan structures for equity loan requests.
  • Conduct in-depth risk assessments and prepare comprehensive written analyses and recommendations for approval, counteroffer, or declination within authority limits.
  • Ensure all loan decisions comply with internal credit policies, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Make loan decisions within moderate approval limits; elevate complex or high-exposure loans to senior underwriters or management.
  • Collaborate with processors, loan officers, closers, and other stakeholders to resolve escalated issues and facilitate timely credit decisions.
  • Provide guidance and support to Underwriter I and other team members as needed.
  • Participate in workflow process improvements and contribute to policy development.
