Job summary

The Nellie Mae Education Foundation in Quincy, MA seeks an experienced Communications Manager to lead our outreach and storytelling around racial equity in public education. You will shape strategies, coordinate digital channels, and collaborate across teams to elevate grantees and our mission.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in nonprofit communications, strong writing and editing skills, and proficiency with Adobe Suite and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in communications, preferably nonprofit.
• Deep commitment to racial equity in public education.
• Experience developing and evaluating org-wide communications strategies.
• Proficiency in digital channels: website, social media, email.
• Collaborative, mentoring, and cross-functional partnership skills.
• Excellent written and spoken communications; highly organized.
• Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement communications strategies that highlight NMEF and grantee work.
• Manage multiple channels: blog, social media, email, website, print materials.
• Support research and evaluation content.
• Oversee events sponsorship grants to extend brand reach.
• Coach staff and collaborate with staff and grantees.
• Manage external agencies and campaigns.
• Partner with CCO and Evaluation team to assess impact.
• Supervise a part-time Communications Intern.
• Identify opportunities to raise NMEF profile in media.
