Job summary

Prospect Schools is seeking a strategic, equity‑driven Senior Director of School Operations to lead and scale operational excellence across our growing network of K‑12 charter schools in Brooklyn.

The ideal candidate will be a systems thinker who coaches Directors of School Operations, builds scalable processes, and partners with the COO and Principals to align budgets, calendars, talent and academic priorities for student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5–7 years of progressive school operations leadership experience, including 3+ years managing and developing others.
• Proven success designing systems, driving execution, and leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Comfortable navigating complexity and organizational change.
• Strong project management and analytical skills; commitment to equity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale operational excellence across a growing network of schools.
• Coaching and managing Directors of School Operations (DSOs) and building leadership capacity.
• Co-create and champion a vision for operational outcomes with dashboards, metrics, and playbooks.
• Collaborate with Principals and network teams to align budgets, calendars, and talent systems.
• Ensure consistency and transparency in processes, roles, and responsibilities across schools.
• Drive change management and ensure launch readiness and ongoing operational effectiveness.
