Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
• Valid teaching certification in Physical Education, or ability to obtain certification upon employment.
• At least 2-3 years of experience teaching P.E. or coaching youth athletics.
• Deep understanding of physical development in middle school-aged children.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to complete certification prior to start date)

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate physical education lessons.
• Create a culture of health and wellness aligned with ECS and BTWA’s mission.
• Foster sportsmanship, leadership, and positive identity development.
• Differentiate instruction to support learners with diverse needs.
• Monitor progress, maintain assessment data, and adjust instruction to meet goals for PE and health.
• Lead or support extracurricular activities such as intramural sports or fitness clubs.
• Collaborate with teachers to align PE with academic and SEL goals.
• Contribute to school culture through teamwork, safety, and mutual respect.
• Participate in professional development and cross‑curricular planning.
• Support daily routines and schoolwide events related to health and wellness
