Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts Dance Education certification.
• Current district staff member preferred.
• Any equivalent experience or training that covers required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Produces and directs dance performances for school and public events.
• Creates production calendar in collaboration with school and VPA department.
• Applies an equity lens to casting and process and recruits participants.
• Teaches dance principles and techniques to students and demonstrates movement styles.
• Auditions students to select parts and assigns roles with equity in mind.
• Organizes rehearsals and coordinates backstage tasks with tech and costuming teams.
• Sets budgets and coordinates royalties, rentals and payments with the VPA department.
