Job summary

YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish invites applications for a Career Navigator to support individuals experiencing homelessness. The role focuses on career coaching, workforce development, and individualized case management to help participants reach stable employment and housing goals.

Working within WIOA guidelines, you will connect participants to WorkSource and community resources, advocate for equity, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to expand opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in participant recruitment, enrollment, career assessment and outcomes reporting.
• Understanding of racism, poverty, homelessness, and related systems affecting low-income people of color.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with good judgment without on-site supervision.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel across King County for meetings, trainings, and events.

Responsibilities

• Recruit participants from the community and screen applicants for eligibility.
• Build trusting, empathetic relationships with people experiencing homelessness.
• Administer strength-based assessments to identify needs and goals.
• Provide career development and workforce services tailored to participants.
• Develop clear, SMART employment plans with participants.
• Assist participants in navigating job search, applications, and interviews.
• Maintain participant files and input data into HMIS and ETO databases.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly performance reports.
