Job summary

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks an Assistant Principal to join the School-Based Leadership team. The AP will coach teachers, observe classroom practice, provide feedback, and help reinforce a positive school culture aligned with the school leader's vision. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree, at least four years of teaching experience, and a demonstrated commitment to equity in urban education.

The role is year-round with typical hours 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• At least four years of teaching experience with proven high achievement.
• Commitment to racial and educational equity within urban/charter settings.
• Florida Teacher certification or equivalent in core content area.
• Ability to coach teachers to high student achievement and build school culture.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate constant learning and collaboration with students, staff, families, and community.
• Lead staff to achieve high performance through coaching, goal setting, and evaluation.
• Serve on the school leadership team and support school management functions.
• Orient staff to school practices, policies, and the school vision/values.
• Coach teachers to improve instruction via feedback, curriculum planning, and assessments.
• Lead staff evaluations and help refine professional development for teachers.
• Collaborate to implement data-informed strategies to improve instructional practices.
• Support behavior and culture initiatives and engage families in education.
• Supervise school activities and events and perform duties as assigned.
