Job summary

Autheo seeks an experienced IP Patent Attorney to join as a high-ownership equity cofounder, protecting core technologies across Layer-0/Layer-1, post-quantum security, and AI compute.

You will lead patent strategy, drafting, and portfolio development, collaborating with executives and engineering teams to translate breakthroughs into patent applications while advising on ownership and licensing within a distributed cofounder network.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience drafting and filing patents for software, cloud, cryptography, or blockchain tech
• JD from an accredited law school and admission to at least one US state bar
• USPTO Patent Bar registration
• Strong technical understanding of blockchain, cryptography, and distributed systems
• Ability to write clear, technically deep patent claims for complex tech
• Experience managing a patent portfolio in a high-innovation environment

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an IP strategy aligned with Layer-0/Layer-1, DePIN, and AI roadmaps
• Lead invention harvesting with engineering, cryptography, and product teams
• Draft and file provisional and non-provisional patent applications
• Draft precise claims protecting long-term competitive advantage
• Advise on IP ownership, licensing, and open-source compliance across equity-cofounder network
• Support due-diligence efforts with IP documentation
