Job summary

Solve Intelligence is seeking a Legal & Product Engineer with USPTO examiner experience to shape how the patent office side of the process is built. You will bring examiner perspective into product discussions and work with global patent offices like the USPTO and EPO in a fast-moving startup environment.

You’ll join a lean, high-skill legal team in New York, onboarding examiner users and partnering with patent attorneys to ramp quickly on Solve's workflows and tooling.

Qualifications

Licensed US patent attorney or patent agent with a technical degree in CS or EE.
Former USPTO patent examiner with 1–2 years examining experience.
Currently not an active examiner and not returned to government work.
3–5+ years total experience across USPTO examining and private practice.

Responsibilities

Incorporate firsthand USPTO examiner experience into product discussions, shaping examiner-facing features.
Support direct engagement with patent offices (USPTO, EPO) adding domain credibility.
Onboard and support examiner users as Solve's examiner-facing product and contracts come online.
Collaborate with patent attorneys to align workflows and tooling.
