Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Understanding of financial products.
• General Ledger accounting experience.
• Experience with financial reporting and month end close responsibilities.
• Strong analytical skills; understand complex processing systems and dependencies.
• Excellent desktop/spreadsheet/database skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with multi-tasking ability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain partnerships across finance, ops and tech teams.
• Ability to critically challenge to identify control issues.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy and validity of GL balance sheet accounts per GLA standards.
• Adhere to P&L and Balance Sheet controls and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Analyze variances between GL and upstream systems; communicate findings.
• Collaborate with line of business controllers, middle office, business managers, technology and operations.
• Understand end-to-end trading flows, booking models, product configurations and trade economics for policy application.
• Ensure integrity of income statement and balance sheet at month/quarter/year ends.
• Lead line of business initiatives and be the financial control SME.
• Identify and implement process or infrastructure enhancements with stakeholders.
• Oversee preparation of primary financial statements for earnings releases and SEC filings.
• Control post-closing entries and consolidation adjustments.
• Conduct various control procedures to enhance the overall control environment.
