Overall Summary:

The Equipment Technician sets up, maintains, adjusts, and troubleshoots lettershop production equipment. They ensure that deadlines, quality, and quantity goals are met.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Perform repairs, set-ups, and rebuilds on machinery; fabricate parts for repairs and upgrades.
2. Participate in ARC Flash Electrical Safety Program.
3. Follow all safety procedures, including Lock out/Tag out.
4. Address unsafe conditions promptly; act immediately to mitigate danger and escalate issues when necessary.
5. Complete projects with minimal oversight.
6. Display advanced expertise on at least 3 processes or moderate expertise on 4 or more processes.
7. Assist with installation and movement of equipment.
8. Maintain and work on various equipment, including special equipment as assigned.
9. Identify and communicate issues; analyze data; resolve complex issues independently.
10. Develop solutions addressing business needs; anticipate and address work area needs.
11. Modify and rebuild existing equipment as necessary.
12. Collaborate with vendors and SMEs to resolve issues.
13. Serve as a resource for others outside the department.
14. Train, coach, and mentor team members and mechanics when needed.
15. Promote open communication within and across departments.
16. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
17. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

• Proficiency in reading and writing English; understanding oral and written communication.
• Advanced mechanical skills; quick learner of machine operations.
• Electrical skills and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Knowledge of tools and repair techniques.
• Team problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Basic math and measurement reading skills.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience; trade school is a plus; 1-2 years experience.
• 10+ years experience in electronic and mechanical troubleshooting on automated manufacturing equipment.
• 2-4 years experience as an Equipment Technician.
• Experience with print or direct mail equipment is preferred.
• Lean manufacturing and/or quality control training is a plus.
• Participation in safety teams or training is a plus.
• Experience with MSDs, Kearns, and BlueCrest Epic Inserters is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, rotating 3-4 days weekly, including weekends.
• Overtime as needed.
• Work in a climate-controlled environment with exposure to loud noise (PPE provided).
• Lift, carry, and push/pull up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, walk, bend, and perform physical movements for up to 12 hours.
• Fine motor skills, pushing, pulling, grasping, pinching, reaching.
• Pre-employment assessment required.

Salary:

The hourly rate range is $24-37/hr, based on experience and qualifications. IWCO offers comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
