Job summary

nLIGHT, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Technician to support maintenance and operations in Vancouver, WA. The role covers setup, calibration, troubleshooting, repairs, and PM tasks on Test & Bonding equipment using a CMMS system.

Ideal candidates have a background in electronics manufacturing, 3+ years of maintenance experience, and the ability to read schematics. Shift work is required; training begins on compressed day shift with various shift options.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years equipment maintenance experience (not required)
  • Associate Degree in Electronics, Manufacturing Technology or equivalent working experience desired
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, pneumatic drawings, and piping schematics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to write technical procedures and work instructions
  • General understanding of SPC
  • Intermediate MS Office and computer skills
  • Must be able to work in a clean room, work from ladders, and lift
  • Shift work is required
  • On-call rotating basis may be required

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain tools and facilities.
  • Set-up, calibration, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades and preventative maintenance on Test & Bonding equipment using CMMS.
  • Support installation of process tools.
  • Collect and evaluate equipment data, including SPC, to ensure baselines and quality maintenance.
  • Create preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement and implement new or improved procedures.
  • Responsible for lab safety, spare parts inventory, and 5S organization.
  • Cross-train other technicians.
  • Support operations as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

nLIGHT is seeking an outstanding Equipment Technician to support our maintenance and operations located in Vancouver, Washington.

Schedule (choose Which Shift)
  • The first weeks of training will be training on compressed day shift
  • Shift A: Sunday-Tuesday bi-Wednesday 5A-5:15P
  • Shift C: Thursday-Saturday bi-Wednesday 5A-5:15P
Functions
  • Responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of tools and facilities
  • Performs set-up, calibration, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades and preventative maintenance tasks on Test & Bonding equipment using CMMS system
  • Supports installation of process tools
  • Collects and evaluate equipment data, including SPC, to ensure equipment baselines and operations remain in control and quality maintenance standards are met
  • Creates preventative maintenance procedures
  • Drives/enables suggestions from the team and other sources to implementation, resulting in continuous improvement
  • Provides recommendations for new or improved procedures
  • Responsible for lab safety, spare part inventory, and 5S organization
  • Cross trains other technicians
  • Supports operations as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bond and Test equipment experience preferred
  • Ideal candidate will have 3+ years equipment maintenance experience. (not required)
  • Associate Degree in Electronics, Manufacturing Technology or equivalent working experience desired
  • Strong background in Equipment Maintenance
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand electrical schematics, pneumatic drawings, and piping schematics
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skill
  • Ability to write technical procedures and work instructions
  • General understanding of SPC
  • Intermediate Microsoft office and computer skills
  • Must be able to work in a clean room environment, work from ladders, and lift
  • Shift work is required
  • Prefer prior experience of the Emergency Response Team with ability to wear respirators and SCBA equipment
  • Demonstrates personal modesty with the intent to enhance teamwork dynamics within the group and between cross-functional area
  • Ability to be on call on a rotating basis, if needed

  • Starting pay depends on qualifications:
  • Equipment Technician I - $24.00 to $30.00 per hour
  • Equipment Technician II - $26.00 to $33.80 per hour
  • Shift differentials are paid at the rate of 10% for hours worked between 5:30PM and 12:00AM and at 15% for hours worked between 12:00AM and 5:30AM
  • Target Cash Bonus with potential payout of up to 2% of earned wages
  • 120 hours of paid Vacation per year, plus paid Sick Leave and 10 paid Holidays
