Job summary

System One, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Technician for the South Plainfield, NJ area on a contract-to-hire basis. The role focuses on supporting, sustaining, and managing process equipment to achieve maximum uptime with minimal production impact.

You will perform preventative and predictive maintenance and work with CMMS to track tasks. This onsite 2nd shift (2 PM – 10:30 PM) requires hands-on mechanical and electrical skills, familiarity with high vacuum and MOCVD-like systems, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Experience with MOCVD systems or similar high-vacuum equipment is preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude is required.
• Proficient in reading schematics, plumbing and pneumatic diagrams.
• PC literacy including Excel, Word and Teams is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and coordinate maintenance repairs for main process equipment and auxiliaries to optimize uptime.
• Use schematics, hand tools, electrical gauges and test equipment for calibration and repair.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure reliable operation of equipment.
• Maintain and control spare parts inventories for equipment.
• Use CMMS or equivalent system to document work and track tasks.
• Ensure compliance with Safety & Security protocols including handling of parts and chemicals.

Job Title: Equipment Technician
Location: South Plainfield, NJ
Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation:

• Junior: $22-$26/hour, depending on experience
• Mid-Level: $26-$30/hour, depending on experience
• Senior: $30-$32+/hour, depending on experience

Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Hours: Monday through Friday (2nd Shift: 2PM to 1030PM)

Responsibilities

• Will support, sustain, manage equipment, and execute duties in compliance with continual business operation requirements.
• Maintain, repair and coordinate maintenance repairs for main process equipment, auxiliary equipment and optimize PM work to achieve the highest uptime with minimal production impact.
• Use schematics, hand tools, electrical gauges and common test equipment for calibration, diagnosis and repair or maintenance of equipment.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal operation of equipment is maintained.
• Maintain and control spare parts inventories for equipment.
• Perform work and task interactions using CMMS or equivalent system.
• Ensure compliance with all Safety & Security protocols including the storage, disposal of parts and chemicals.
• Support facilities and interact with external service providers.
• Work with low and high voltage applications up to 480 VAC.
• Able to perform tasks using self-breathing air system.
• Work in a cleanroom environment adhering to all safety and cleanroom protocols.
• Respond to after-hour unscheduled emergencies as needed.
• Mandatory availability during holidays and shut-down periods.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience with MOCVD systems.
• Experience with high vacuum systems.
• Strong people skills, which include effective communication, teamwork/collaboration and situation resolution.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Strong equipment troubleshooting skills.
• PC knowledge and use is a requirement.
• Experienced in EXCEL, WORD, and TEAMS.
• Able to read schematics, plumbing, and pneumatic diagrams.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and/ or carry minimum 50 pounds.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch/crawl daily.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.
