Job summary

TSMC Arizona is seeking an Equipment Technician to maintain and troubleshoot state-of-the-art 300mm semiconductor equipment in a cleanroom environment in Phoenix, AZ. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspect equipment post-PM, and respond to system errors, contributing to continuous improvement and safe operations.

The role involves reliability-focused work, 12-hour shifts on a compressed week, and potential rotation to night shifts based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent technical training in military service with machine maintenance experience preferred.
  • Able to operate computer and system interface programs to analyze production information.
  • Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation.
  • Able to work in a cleanroom environment, gowning up in coveralls, hoods, boots, safety glasses and gloves; spend >90% on the factory floor.
  • Able to lift weight consistent with applicable regulations and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Performing preventive maintenance activities on state-of-the-art 300mm semiconductor equipment in cleanroom environment.

  • Reviewing SPC charts for process quality and conducting defect troubleshooting.
  • Sustaining and improving spare parts management system and be responsible for full life-cycle of spare parts.
  • Actively participating in continuous improvement processes, learning and skills development.
  • Performing activities in a safe and responsible manner and supporting EH&S requirements and programs.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Job Description

  • Performing preventive maintenance activities on state‑of‑the‑art 300mm semiconductor equipment in cleanroom environment.
  • Performing visual inspections (quality check) post PM.
  • Responding to error messages of factory systems and/or equipment.
  • Reviewing Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts for process quality and conducting defect troubleshooting.
  • Sustaining and improving spare parts management system and be responsible for full life‑cycle of spare parts.
  • Actively participating in continuous improvement processes, learning and skills development.
  • Performing activities in a safe and responsible manner and supporting Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

TSMC Arizona operates 24/7/365 and shifts will be assigned based on business need.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States and have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent or equivalent technical training in military service, with sufficient machine maintenance experience preferred.
  • Able to operate computer and system interface programs to ensure appropriate computing and analysis of production information.
  • Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation.
  • Able to work in a cleanroom environment, gowning up in coveralls, hoods, boots, safety glasses and gloves. Spend the majority of time (>90%, minus break time) on the factory floor working on the tools.
  • Able to lift weight consistent with applicable regulations and/or safety guidelines, including NIOSH Lifting Recommendations.
  • This position is required to work on a compressed work week schedule and rotating shifts as requested, which generally last 3-6 months, or may be assigned to a permanent nightshift position depending on business needs.
  • Typical shift is 12 hours long, alternating between three and four days every other week including breaks.
Emergency Response Team Duties

If hired for this position, you may be required to participate in and perform Emergency Response Team (ERT) duties as an essential part of the role. These duties may include responding to F21 incidents, such as medical emergencies, chemical spills, fire response, or addressing any other disruptions to business operations. If you are selected by your manager to become a part of ERT, participation is mandatory, and additional compensation will be provided for performing these critical responsibilities in the form of a monthly premium.
