Job summary

JE Dunn Construction Company seeks an Equipment Technician to support Blue Hat Crane and Equipment operations in Omaha, NE. The role focuses on maintaining, repairing, and mobilizing equipment per manufacturer specs, with accountability to the company’s safety and service standards.

You will act as a subject matter expert, perform preventive maintenance, and guide customers on proper equipment use, while coordinating with Field Operations to ensure timely parts and service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent (Required).
• Apprentice program or Vocational/Technical degree with equipment repair emphasis (Preferred).
• In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• 2+ years equipment operation, maintenance, or repair experience (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Subject matter expert for equipment lines within the Blue Hat rental fleet.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs per manufacturers’ specifications.
• Leads on-site assembly/disassembly on selected specialty equipment lines.
• Instructs customers on proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Troubleshoots equipment on-site or by phone with Field Operations.
• Documents completed maintenance, repairs and inspections accurately.

Role Summary

The Equipment Technician will provide routine and non-routine support to the day-to-day Blue Hat Crane and Equipment operations. This position will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and mobilizing equipment as per manufacturers’ specifications. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN FAMILY - CORE

• Subject matter expert for one or more equipment lines of the Blue Hat rental fleet.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on breakdowns for equipment per manufacturers’ specifications.
• Leads on-site assembly/disassembly activities on selected specialty equipment lines.
• Instructs customers on proper operation and maintenance of equipment as required.
• Troubleshoots equipment breakdowns on site or over the phone with Field Operations using effective communication skills.
• Documents accurately (on paper or digitally) completed maintenance, repairs and inspections on equipment per company processes.
• Communicates in a timely manner with internal and external business partners by answering phone calls and responding to emails for maintenance related questions.
• Orders parts for equipment repair utilizing the internal process. Determines correct parts using the manufacturers’ requirements and specifications.
• Receives, organizes, stores, and distributes equipment, parts, and supplies as needed.
• Coordinates and organizes efficient storage of Blue Hat fleet.

Education

Experience

• 2+ years equipment operation, maintenance, or repair experience (Preferred)

Working Environment

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• May require periods of overnight travel
• May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold)
